We got here at around 6pm on a weeknight and there were a lot of seats! While we got seated, people started coming through and the place got very busy. I saw this on social media and had to try it myself. Mashita is known for their galbi jjim. They are oftentimes compared to Daeho. Their galbi jjim is $15 cheaper than Daeho. In terms of quality, the galbi jjim was large and had a lot of meat! The cheese is not as stretchy as I wanted. It got cold easily and solidify quite quickly. Overall, I enjoyed the galbi jjim and would come back!

Fantastic spot! Definitely expect a wait when you go. There is a small menu, but you have to get the galbi jjim. This is a large portion and could probably feed 4 people. They blowtorch the cheese on top at the table. Perfect meal for a cold day!

Got here around 7 on a Friday and waited over an hour to be seated so definitely recommend coming earlier. There were only 4 parties ahead but it seems like they are pretty understaffed so it takes a while to clear tables and for food to be ready. We ordered chicken wings, garlic noodles and galbi jjim. I usually don't like chicken wings that much but these were perfectly crispy and the right balance of sweet and salty. The wings themselves were very juicy and meaty. Garlic noodles were also solid but the star of the show is the galbi jjim. I enjoyed it a lot more than daeho. The price is lower and comes with cheese, glass noodles, and rice cakes included, which are extras at daeho. The meat was also so tender and there were far less bones to be seen than the last time I was at daeho. This galbi jjim felt more like a family comfort meal. The only con of the experience was the wait time. Even after we were seated, it took a very long time for food to come out. However, the workers were very gracious and kept refilling our banchan and offered us free soju for the wait. I think they are getting more popular so definitely need more staff but the food was amazing and I'll be back

I have been dying to try Mashita and it did not disappoint! I've always had to walk in and put my name down but this time the wait wasn't that long- and actually was much quicker than the time the hostess provided. It's definitely worth wait regardless! We, of course, had to get their galbi jjim- medium spice was perfect! It says it serves 2-3 people but we probably took about 1/3 home. I also really enjoyed their banchan!

Excited to recommend such a place. I've been a few times and the service and food are one to remember. Mashita is a no frills but excellent food type of place. There's no a lot of seating so I can imagine a bit of wait, but I've never had to wait which is a surprise because this is a great spot. Food & drinks: Galbi Jjim - Honestly one of the best in the area, if not the best especially considering the price point. The meat is extremely tender, like off the bones tender. Couple with a balanced amount of sweetness and spice, the flavor here makes you feel like you're being served from a korean grandmother herself. it really is great. Fried Chicken - Great supporting cast to the galbim jjim, simple spices but additional sauces are supplied if requested! Service is generous too! They are making sure you are properly care for and happy, the spot feels like a mom and pop store and the service helps that feeling too. Time much enjoyed here :)

Amazing food and amazing service! Servers were very attentive to refilling our side dishes and drinks & food was amazing. So worth it as we split a galbi jim among three people and still had leftovers

Came on a Saturday right when they opened and there was no wait! Service was a bit slow at first since they were just opening, but they were very nice. I liked how the galbijjim didn't have bones in it, there was maybe only one large piece with it. Cheese didn't cost extra and mild spice level wasn't too spicy! The banchan was lacking a little flavor but then they came out with a spinach banchan that had a lot of salt, so they paired well together. Would come back!

Highly recommend this spot. The place is small so there can usually be a wait to get a table but the staff is really nice and has a couple seats to wait in. The ambiance looks like more of a well lit cafe. The fried dumplings 4/5 have a delicious filling topped with a little crunch. My friend who's addicted to the Costco beef Mandu said they were the best dumplings he's ever had. Beef stew 4.5/5 - Delicious. Highly recommend. A little pricey but so filling, made for 3-4 people. The beef is tender and flavorful, the carrots and potatoes are sweet, savory and soft, and the cheese ties everything together into a delicious meal.

Better than daeho! Much lighter and comes with complimentary add-ons and banchan. Generous portion of noodles, although I wish there was more meat. Ordered sweet potato fries and chicken wings as well. Both were tasty but the star of the show was definitely the kalbijim. The waitress fired the cheese in front of our eyes, which I'd never seen before! Service was great and waiters were very attentive. Definetly enough food for five people to enjoy If I were to come again, I'd definetly order the kalbijim and wings, but hold off on the sweet potato fries. Tips: - the wings can be ordered half and half with two flavors - because this is such a popular spot, the wait can be quite long and there isn't an online waitlist system yet. if you can, have someone check in early to put your name down on the list!

galbijim (3.5/5): the galbijim was SO sweet and really lacked flavor compared to daeho. maybe because its a slow day (monday), but there was no depth to the sauce the beef cooks in; it just tasted overly sweet. was pretty disappointed after all of the wonderful reviews saying it easily beats daeho. i will say the meat was MUCH better though. banchan (4/5): really good portions! we had 5 types served to us which was nice and i liked the spicy cucumbers, fish cakes, and sesame dressing salad. service (4.5/5): i came in with my party on a monday and we had no wait; most tables were empty! overall: for the price, i think it was a good dinner, but nothing is compelling me to come back (while on the other hand, i still always crave daeho!).
